The end of the year is fast approaching. We have a couple of fun activities planned for the secondary school and elementary schools. On May 11th the high school will be having their annual administrative cookout. It will be Larry’s last time cooking. The elementary school will be having their picnic on May 18th. The high school will also be having their Senior Honors Breakfast and Senior Sit Down Meal. The elementary school has a lot of field trips in the month of May. Your child can always order a bag lunch from their teacher for these trips.
The sixth graders will be joining us on April 30th at the high school. We are excited to have them here. They will be eating at 11:25 am. They will not be allowed to charge anything extra, just like the current policy, except for milk.
With the end of the year brings us to a time of cleaning up our lunch accounts. Starting Tuesday, May 15th, you must have enough money in your account to pay for the meals that day. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact me.
Next year will bring new dietary standards for all the schools. Students will have to take a fruit or vegetable each day; they currently do not have to. We will be adding a fruit and vegetable bar at the elementary school so this will be easier for them. The new standards will be explained in my more detail in the August newsletter.
