Career and Technical Education

Tracy Huhn

Hi, my name is Tracy Huhn.  I am one of two agricultural education teachers here at Eden Valley-Watkins and have been teaching in the district since 2008.  Originally from Rush City, I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelors of Science degree in Agriculture Education.

I firmly believe in learning through experience.  Students will be active learners through hands-on activities.  I currently teach Food Chemistry, Agricultural Economics, Small Gas Engines, MN Wildlife, Natural Resources, Ag7, Veterinary Science, Small Animal Science, and Supervised Agricultural Experience Programs.  Students can earn their Chemistry and Economics credits in my courses.  SAEP includes proficiency applications, record keeping, discovery, greenhand, chapter, and state degrees.

I also advise and coach an award-winning FFA chapter.  Our Fish & Wildlife teams won state and competed at Nationals in 2024.  Numerous students have earned their state and American FFA degrees.  We also conduct service learning projects, fruit sale fundraiser, and agricultural literacy programs.  Our chapter continues to grow, and we are currently coaching 20+ CDE/LDE teams.

I grew up on a large hog farm, where I fell in love with animal agriculture.  I currently live on a small hobby farm near Litchfield with my husband and two children. We raise registered Simmental cattle.  We also farm corn and soybeans with my in-laws.

Tyler Warren

This year marks my twelfth year of being in the classroom. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education and received a Work-Based Learning Certificate from the University of Minnesota and have a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

While I teach a variety of classes, I believe each class should be student-centered. Every student has potential — the potential to learn and succeed. A large part of my classes will be centered on self-discovery and self-directed learning through hands-on and inquiry-based lessons. I'm a firm believer in having students apply the knowledge they learn in a "hands-on, minds-on" classroom. Aside from letting my students experience agriculture and gain knowledge, I want my students to understand how agriculture affects them on a daily basis. Incorporating life-long skills and leadership qualities in my classes is something I do as well, to provide students with the chance to sharpen these skills, which will be extremely beneficial in the future.

Aside from teaching, I'm an FFA advisor for the Eden Valley-Watkins FFA Chapter, where I work with members year-round in grades 7-12 preparing for contests, planning and conducting community events, and developing their leadership skills. In addition to FFA, I'm an assistant cross country coach and the head girl's track and field coach.

Outside of school, I can be found helping on my family's farm south of Watkins, where we milk cows and farm acreage growing corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and oats. When I get some free time away from school and the farm, I enjoy running and competing in road races ranging from 5ks  to marathons, around the upper Midwest.
