I am the ADSIS (Alternative Delivery of Specialized Instructional Services) Coordinator serving K-12th grade students and the 504 Coordinator. I will focus on students who may need interventions in reading, math, and behavior. I spend my days at Eden Valley Elementary and Eden Valley High School. The goal of ADSIS is to provide instruction and services to K-12 students who need additional academic or behavioral support to succeed in the general education environment.
I am from Bloomington, MN and came to Eden Valley after marrying my husband, Ralph. We live outside of Eden Valley, where Ralph is a dairy farmer. We have five children; Kenny, Charlotte, Henry, Leander, and Peter. I graduated from St. Cloud State with a Bachelors in Elementary Education, K-8, with an emphasis in Language Arts. My love for learning continued by pursuing my Masters at St. Mary's University in Minneapolis, which was completed December 2015. I chose to further my education by earning my Reading Teacher/Coach licensure through Saint Mary's, which was completed August 2017. This is my 14th year teaching.
In my classroom, students are given challenges, working with others, and held to high expectations. I want my students to learn to love learning. Lifelong learners are what I strive for them to become. By showing them my passion for the topics I teach, the hope is they are more excited about learning. Students are given the chance to explore on their own and learn from mistakes. We work together as a team and work on being responsible. I want my students to be prepared for real-life situations and know how to make the best choices.
