Would you love to help children grow their reading skills and succeed in school? If your answer is yes, serve as a tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps at Eden Valley Elementary. Whether you want to explore a career in education, re-enter the workforce, or give back to your community, you can be a child’s hero as a tutor. Last year, Minnesota Reading Corps provided direct services to more than 30,000 children in more than 700 sites across the state.

As a Literacy Tutor, you’ll use research-proven strategies to help elementary students gain the reading skills they need to thrive in school and in life. There are openings for part-time and full-time tutors. Tutors serve most of their hours during the school day. Tutors come from many backgrounds and include recent high school and college grads, career changers, stay-at-home parents, and retirees. With extensive training, support from onsite coaches, and evidence-based strategies, Reading Corps tutors are well-equipped to change lives. Tutors may earn a living allowance, education award, and federal student loan forbearance, and will have the chance to make a real difference in the life of a child.
