The Elementary Peer Tutor Program provides sixth grade students the opportunity to tutor students in kindergarten through fifth grades. Under teacher supervision, sixth grade tutors work with students weekly for thirty minutes. Peer tutors are responsible for assisting classroom teachers, being positive role models and building relationships with students. Eligibility is based upon maintaining positive behaviors, passing grades, and teacher recommendation. Student placements and inclusion in the Peer Tutor Program are evaluated each midquarter, at the end of each quarter, and at other times throughout the school year as necessary.
