Jolene Schmitz

Hello, my name is Jolene Schmitz and I have been teaching at Eden Valley High School since 2021. I grew up in Cold Spring and attended ROCORI school district. I then moved to Winona to complete my degree in Mathematics Education for grades 5-12 and a major in Mathematics at Winona State University. I moved back home to student teach at EV-W in the spring of 2021. In my first year at EVW, I taught Special Education, specifically math. After that, I moved to the math department, teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, and Honors Geometry.

In my free time, I enjoy going camping, snowmobiling, attending concerts, traveling, reading, working on puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. I have a dog named Ozzy, he is a Cavachon (cavalier and a bichon mix) and keeps me busy. I also like to watch different sporting events, go EAGLES!

I hope to get to know you and your students throughout the school year. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My goal is for all students to feel welcome and successful in my class. I am available most days before or after school and can arrange additional help for your student if needed. I’m thrilled to work with you and your students and can’t wait to see what the year brings.
