Jodi Penk
Originally from Wisconsin, I attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and completed my undergraduate history degree. I then completed my teaching licensure from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. I moved to Litchfield in 2001 to take a teaching job at the high school. I taught social studies for LHS from 2001-2008 and then again from 2015-2016. I took some time off to raise a family from 2008 to 2016. During the 2016-2017 school year, I completed three long-term positions in the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City school district. I started teaching at EV-W in 2018.
This year I will be teaching World Geography, HIST 1307/Advanced American History, and American History 9. My classroom is a place to learn, live and laugh. Throughout our World Geography class, we will explore and discover the various countries of the world focusing on the physical features as well as the human environment interaction of the cultures of our planet. In our American Diversity class, we will examine the issues of immigration, race, culture, and ethnicity. All of our classes will discuss current events each day to encourage students to engage in their ever-changing world.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family outside! We love to downhill ski, boat, and spend time at the lake. I also enjoy running and reading.
Here are a few of my favorite things:
Food: Anything Italian! Book: To Kill a Mockingbird
Sport to watch: Football Music: Country
Candy: Sour Gummy Worms Season: Fall
Drink: Coke Zero Ice Cream: Sea Salt Caramel
Please feel free to contact me via telephone through the school office or via email jpenk@evw.k12.mn.us I am very excited to work with you and your student!
Sincerely,
